Isabella's 6 month stats (+/-)

Still sorting through vacation photos / will try to finish that this weekend & post about our trip to Edisto then.

Until that's complete, enjoy these great photos of Mercer sharing his plaid fedora with Isabella earlier this week.

Also, here are the stats from her 6 month old appointment today.  (Technically, she's 6 months + 3 weeks old, but... it's close!)

She is 25.75" long (33%), 16 lbs, 1.6 oz (37%) and 17" head circumference (59%).  Seems that she's a little smaller this time than she was last time compared to the growth curve -- but she's doing great.  Very healthy baby girl.

We think she may have had an allergic reaction to an environmental condition a few weeks ago - wearing something on her feet that caused hives & blisters.  Within hours after removing the shoes, some of the hives had gone down.  After a few days, they were gone - only leaving red spots.  Now, the skin on her feet is peeling where the blisters were.

The doctor looked at photos of the different conditions, but was not sure if it was allergies or if it was or if it was a mild virus?  Todd and I watched it go down after removing the environmental condition, so we're thinking allergy.  Guess that means no synthetic materials for baby girl!!

When it originally happened, the on-call nurse and I hypothesized that the shoes could have had rubber in them?  Maybe latex?  Also - since we're trying Isabella out on new foods every 4 - 5 days, we're keeping a journal and watching closely for potential food allergies.  It appears that the same protein that's in latex can also show up in some foods.   Maybe we're being overly cautious, but we're keeping an eye on those foods with potential similarities to observe anything that pops up.  So far, so good~

She's really enjoying eating solid food.  We've introduced variety now.  eating one new food + a second "meal" during the day of something else that has already been tried in previous weeks.  She's enjoying solid foods so much now that she's impatient and grunting if we set the spoon down to take a bite of our own dinner.  It's pretty funny.
