Some funny shots of Mercer...

We are now pretty much always keeping a cotton bib around Mercer's neck because of the constant stream of drool that comes out of his mouth. So - this (almost) naked boy shot is a rarity. If you look closely - you can see that the drool goes all the way down to the top of his belly. One string. Impressive! You can click on the photo to enlarge it to witness the impressive string of drool yourself.

(I took these shots before all of the hoopla last week.)

Mercer's getting better at sitting up now. He does real well in this little chair. If he's unaided, he will still flop over, but can stay seated for a little bit of time now.

Also, if he's laying down, he will try to raise up on his own. He can only pull himself up about an inch or so at this point. His little tummy muscles are developing and getting stronger.

He ate his first home-made baby food this week. Avocado. The first day - he didn't really like it, so he didn't eat too much. The second day - not so much either *until* I pulled a little psychology on him. I acted like I wanted to eat it, then he finally went for it. And he started plowing into it. It was kind of funny.

(I have made some of his food previously (with a baby food recipe book, a little food mill, and some ice-cube trays) but have frozen it for later -- when he gets a little older.)

Good for you for making his food! I will definitley do more of that with the second baby (no news here). Which book do you have? I love the one by Annabel Karmel calle "First Meals".
